Railway cargo turnover between Kazakhstan, China grew by 25%

AKIPRESS.COM – The railway cargo turnover between Kazakhstan and China increased by 25% in 2019, Kazakhstan Today reports.
The railway cargo turnover between China and Kazakhstan amounted to 17.6 million tons in 2019, which is by 25% more than in 2018. Over 6.8 million tons of cargo were transported from China, which is by 24% more comparing to the same period in 2018. 10.8 million tons were transported from Kazakhstan to China, which is more by 26% versus 2018.
The volume of cargo turnover has increased through border railway checkpoints of Kazakhstan and China due to the joint efforts of National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Chinese railway and Urumchi railway.
To date, the exchange of cargo trains through the Dostyk-Alashankou border checkpoint reached 17 trains per day.
