A 747 cargo jet was damaged Monday at LAX when a trash bin was blown by heavy winds into its nose gear, destroying two tires, authorities said.
It was reported at 3:08 a.m. on Runway 25 Right, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
Seven people on board at the time were not injured and there was no fire or fuel leak, Stewart said.
“LAFD Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting rigs remain on scene to provide assistance,” she said.
