After being in the industry since 1999, Yggdrasil has now announced strategic alignment with Black Cow Technology. The highly-renowned software producer focuses on producing interactive gaming software solutions that give customers complete control. The agreement states that open architecture specialists will integrate its Games Development Kit (GDK) platform into Yggdrasil’s new Tools, Interface (GATI) solution, and Game Adaptation.
Between 4th to 6th February, the company will be attending ICE London 2020. Therefore, stand N3-140 is the place to find out more about the new publishing division. This coalition is the first GDK partner for Yggdrasil’s new Publishing division, launched in January 2020. By offering customers ‘the keys to its kingdom,’ it enables partners to accelerate their business strategies and revenue growth ambitions cost-effectively and with a short TTM.
The following is the statement of Stuart McCarthy, Head of Partner Strategy & Sourcing at Yggdrasil,
“I am delighted to be able to announce our partnership with Black Cow. Our revolutionary GATI solution allows studios and game developers to build directly onto our platform, thus benefitting from our global distribution, promotional tools, and regulated market adaptors while taking control of their roadmap and retaining complete protection of their IP.”
He also added:
“By adding Black Cow’s proven gold standard GDK technology for studios looking for the game engine build, we believe we have created the perfect go-to solution for any game studio looking to quickly, efficiently and securely get their games to market.”
Black Cow will build game engines for best-of-breed studios who join the YG Masters program and integrate their GDK platform into Yggdrasil’s GATI as the deal sees. After completion, studios and content developers who were previously unable to deliver their game engines will build and distribute content via the Program in the most efficient way. By utilizing GATI, YG Masters partners will have the freedom to build game engines in any way, language, or method with BC’s proven GDK acting as a single channel for support and delivery, provided that game studios want that.
