The Procurement function within Essex County Council is looking for the senior leaders of the future.
Our graduate programme will equip you with the technical skills and end to end procurement cycle experience necessary to become a fully qualified procurement professional, gaining a globally recognised CIPS qualification and to put you on the path to the most senior roles in the public sector. The procurement team within Essex council have the exciting and rewarding responsibility of developing category strategies, sourcing, market shaping and contract managing an external spend of circa £1 billion across multiple of categories of spend within our Corporate , Place and Social Care portfolios.

To be considered for this role you must have:

* A 2:1 degree or better or be expecting to graduate at this level by summer 2020.
* A minimum of three A’ Levels (at least A, A, B excluding general studies) or equivalent

Ideally we expect candidates to have a good degree in a discipline with a strong numeracy and/or analytical bias but we will consider strong candidates irrespective of degree subject.

You will receive a comprehensive package of benefits including: a starting salary of up to £27,000 per annum with all training fees, professional memberships and expenses paid for, paid time off for study and exams and 26 days leave plus bank holidays. We also offer and encourage genuinely flexible working as standard so that you can achieve the right work/life balance and accommodate the demands of a busy life away from the workplace.
