We’re seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Procurement Project Manager to lead, shape and steer the delivery of individual complex procurement projects at OJEU levels and above. The post-holder will take projects from initiation through to contract implementation and lifecycle, with responsibility for maximising savings and efficiencies from goods and services while ensuring appropriate levels of quality. You will act as an expert advisor, challenging where appropriate to ensure all procurement processes stand up to scrutiny and are fair. You will be expected to drive through and embed social value outcomes every procurement you support.
Working closely with service leads from across the Council the post holder will provide a professional, ‘value adding’, procurement service. This will include the development of appropriate procurement approach options and challenge for commissioners to deliver required service objectives, innovation and value for money. The post holder will be responsible for the production of high quality procurement documentation and robust and transparent management of all stages of the procurement and governance processes.
You will hold a Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) certification or equivalent experience working within a professional, commercial procurement environment. Your background should demonstrate responsibility for leading the delivery and tendering of complex public sector (or similar) procurement projects, with a forward thinking approach applying creativity and innovation.
With a proven track record in stakeholder management, you will possess strong verbal and communication skills – working effectively with a range of professionals.
To succeed, you will bring experience of managing risk in a commercial/ political environment with the ability to analyse and report on data including formal report writing and presenting information.
