The new 1,672m2 warehouse will provide additional storage space for raw materials, packaging and finished goods. It will also free up space in the business’s existing warehouse space and enable an extension of Regal’s manufacturing arm, The Baking Company.
The addition of manufacturing space was expected to increase the manufacturer’s overall efficiencies and capabilities as it continues to develop new products due for release later this year.
‘First of its kind’
Regal operations director Absar Younis said: “We are very pleased with and excited about our new warehouse extension, as it is the first of its kind for Regal Foods. The 20 new jobs it creates will be highly beneficial to the local community of Bradford.
“Our warehouse is a key part of our exciting 2020 business plans. Besides expanding our storage, it allows us to improve the range and quantity of our product selection. I’m very proud of our team as the company’s continuous growth over the years has allowed us to build this new facility, and thereby, create new products for our customers to enjoy.”
Asian and British favourites
Established in 2001, Regal produces a mix of products from traditional Asian snacks and drinks to British favourites. It supplies its products to a number of retailers across the country – including Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury’s – and exports to the EU, Scandinavia and the US.
Meanwhile, last month, cereal giant The Kellogg Company is to create 70 new jobs after agreeing a multi-million pound warehousing deal in Liverpool.
The manufacturer is to lease a 48,774m2 warehouse in Haydock, Merseyside – Kellogg’s largest warehouse in the UK – to support the delivery of its products across Britain and exports to the EU and the Middle East.
