Local developers Moonbeam Ventures Ltd. and Sontano Partners Ltd. obtained rezoning approval from the San Antonio City Council for a Tobin Hill warehouse at 218 W. Josephine St., changing the purpose from industrial to multifamily and commercial.
Now, the developers’ next step is to obtain approval from both the city and the Historic Design Review Commission to demolish the warehouse, and build a proposed 300-unit multifamily property on site. The developers also need to apply for a demolition permit.
The developers acquired the property in 2007 from Materials Marketing, a stone, glass and tile supplier. The building is currently Materials Marketing’s headquarters, though a spokesperson with the company told the San Antonio Business Journal it is planning to relocate.
