Senior Buyer: Ground Engineering (Procurement)

This company has seen continued growth across the country and as a result is looking to bring on board a senior buyer charged with the end to end management of procurement activities relating to the company’s crucial materials and equipment contracts. This role will be contributing to some of the biggest and most important construction projects within the UK.

Senior Buyer Responsibilities:
- Devising and implementing procurement strategy, acting both as a standalone expert within the allotted categories but also as part of the wider business unit
- Foster a community culture and collaborative approach with the customer and internal teams by exercising excellent stakeholder management skills
- Running the full end to end procurement process, including preparing tenders and onboarding new suppliers all whilst carrying out due diligence
- Auditing supplier performance to ensure contractual requirements are met, achieving significant value for money and the highest possible levels of service
The successful candidate will be able to display:
- Previous senior experience (minimum 5 years) within procurement and supply chain, preferably within a construction, engineering or similar setting
- Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the end to end procurement process
- Strong academic track record, degree educated and CIPS qualified (desirable)
- Examples of strong stakeholder management and supplier management skills
