Sun Peaks Cargo is continuing to offer deliveries as businesses shut around the village and in Kamloops.
Grocery deliveries will be offered twice a week on Monday and Thursday as long as there is demand.
They have increased safety measures in order to help contain the spread of the virus while still providing an important service to the community.
Payment will be accepted over the phone or online. If paying in cash it must be placed in an envelope or something similar.
Whenever possible bags and bins will be dropped at the customer’s door for unpacking, they ask customers to please unpack them and leave the empty containers outside the door overnight to be picked up in the morning.
All bags and bins are disinfected each day with a hydrogen peroxide based cleaner. Surfaces such as cellphones, steering wheels and other electronics will be disinfected regularly and regular hand washing will also occur.
“Groceries are an essential item and we will continue to operate and provide this essential service to our community for as long as possible,” owners Jodi and Mike Shaw told SPIN.
Information on the service can be found at sunpeakscargo.com/grocery-delivery.
