GHX has awarded the best 50 healthcare organizations based on supply chain excellence.
Automated supply chains enable healthcare providers to bring down costs and improve efficiencies. And a lot of waste across hospital supply chains exists, with unnecessary spending topping $25 billion annually, according to one 2019 study from Navigant.
GHX ranked the best 50 supply chains in North America among healthcare provider organizations, with several high-profile names making the list. Some institutions making the best 50 list include Yale New Haven Health System, Allina Health, Catholic Health System WNY, several university systems and more.
GHX selected the best 50 out of more than 4,100 hospitals in the U.S. and Canada connected to the GHX electronic trading exchange. To get on the list, providers have to complete four closed quarters on the GHX exchange and have more than 10,000 PO lines processed annually. The highest scorers are evaluated in areas such as maximizing document automation, exchange utilization and trading partner connections during the 2019 calendar year.
