The Asia Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and the World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO) have joined forces to organise and offshore wind supply chain conference in Taiwan.
The event will be held in Kaohsiung on the 4 March next year and will run in conjunction with Wind Expo Asia, which is from 3 to 5 March.
AWEA and WFO said the Annual Offshore Wind Supply Conference will be the first conference in Asia-Pacific dedicated to supply chain development in the offshore wind industry.
WFO managing director Gunnar Herzig said: “This joint event between the Asia Wind Energy Association and the World Forum Offshore Wind event is going to be an excellent opportunity for the global offshore wind industry to gain deep insights into the dynamically growing Taiwanese offshore wind market and the region’s outstanding supply chain capabilities.”
AWEA board member Edgare Kerkwijk said: “With the tremendous growth expected for the offshore wind industry in Asia-Pacific and the increasing requirements for localisation, the establishment of a regional conference for supply chain development is very timely.
“In addition, we are pleased to extend our co-operation with WFO to organise our first joint conference.”
