BJP Farmers Cell has countered the claim of state government on paddy procurement stating that farmers of state have been victim of erroneous intention, evil designs and ideologically paralysed leadership in state.
Farmers Cell former state president Sandeep Sharma said farmers were promised of Rs 2500 per quintal of paddy but instead Rs 1815 and Rs 1835 is being given to the farmers. Meanwhile, every year the procurement was being done from November 15 but this year it commenced from December 1.
He alleged that various political dramas are being played across the state in name of paddy procurement while farmers are still unaware that their remaining amount as promised will be given or not. Rs Rs If the situation remains same, the farmers will not be able to sell their produce even till February 15, 2020 as announced by the state government,’’ the BJP leader alleged.
He demanded that state government should step in the issue to rectify the faults in procurement procedures to ensure smooth purchase of produce from farmers.
