Airlines’ cargo divisions have responded to President Donald Trump’s ban on individuals travelling from Europe to the US.
From today (Friday 13), individuals from 23 countries in the European Union will not be permitted to travel to the US, due to US’ fears about the spread of coronavirus.
In response to the news, United Airlines Cargo explained that to compensate the Europe restrictions, it is adding additional road feeder capacity to feed cargo into other routes in its global network.
In a statement, United explained: “We will continue to utilise additional trucking and interline options to serve you. Please contact your United Cargo Sales professional to inquire about and/or book this space”.
The carrier also thanked its customers for their “loyalty and understanding during this challenging time”.
Although the ban imposed by the US does not apply to cargo, Delta Cargo is refraining from shipping live animals and human remains while the restrictions are in place.
Live animals human remains are “Embargoed effective immediately until further notice on all flights to, from and through Europe and the UK”, Delta Cargo informed.
