Garden Fresh Restaurants LLC, parent company of 97 Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants, has named Victor Phan as its first-ever VP of supply chain operations and development. He’ll be in charge of evolving and directing all aspects of the company’s network of 12 food production and commissary kitchen facilities along with distribution and purchasing, according to a company press release.
Most recently, Phan held a similar role at Bumble Bee Foods, the largest branded shelf-stable seafood company in North America with sales of approximately $1 billion. Prior to joining Bumble Bee Foods in 2009, Phan was a senior consultant with KPMG providing M&A advisory services including performing business valuations, developing strategic plans to support financing and the evaluation of goodwill impairment and transfer pricing. Before joining KPMG, Phan was a project manager with the Department of Defense managing approximately $1 billion in contracts.
“Victor’s immense expertise in large-scale supply chain management will be vital to the stewardship of our strategic initiatives and coordinating our existing leadership across key supply chain support functions such as procurement, distribution, food safety and quality assurance,” Garden Fresh Restaurants CEO John Haywood, said in the release. Phan’s addition continues the company’s push towards a robust management team supporting $260 million in annual sales and Garden Fresh’s unique supply chain attributes.
Phan obtained his MBA from Arizona State University and his B.S. in computer engineering from San Diego State University.
