We can’t comment on every press release that hits our desks, but here are a few market news stories this week that we thought we should bring to your attention, and some of our own you may have missed – we may have more from our analysts in the coming days  …

Spend Matters Europe New Analyst

Our exciting news this week is the arrival of Magnus Bergfors to our ranks of procurement analysts. Read about Magnus here and listen to his first podcast here. The first of his regular columns is: Thoughts on Procurement Technology Investments and the full press release is here. And look out for his forthcoming contributions to Spend Matters Pro too.

What’s On the Mind of Chief Procurement Officers in 2019?

Our chief research officer Pierre Mitchell features in a podcast interview with Dr. Robert Handfield, Bank of America University Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management and SCRC Executive Director at the Poole College of Management, about his co-authorship of the 2019 Deloitte Global Chief Procurement Officer Survey, “Complexity: Overcoming obstacles and seizing opportunities.”  Listen here.

JAGGAER ONE Release 19.3 delivers new tools for financial processes and managing global category strategies

The new release also provides AI enhancements including voice recognition technology for the JAGGAER Smart Assistant and better capabilities to support the needs of businesses with global operations with enhanced global eInvoicing compliance and new support for international supplier legal structures, approved payment methods, and new configuration capabilities for Units of Measure and global currency exchange rates.

Procurement Leaders expands offering with market intelligence company Beroe

Members of Procurement Leaders can now access cutting-edge market intelligence via the Beroe LiVE platform, helping members make the critical ‘buy or no-buy’ decisions. Beroe LiVE is a platform for procurement and sourcing professionals of global companies. The service creates advantage for procurement organisations by providing market intelligence, commodity dashboards, supplier discovery and supplier risk management in one single platform. Look out for our interview on Send Matters next week.

The Consultancy Procurement Council key findings from annual Consultancy Category Management Survey

‘This Survey highlights a need for Procurement to set ambitious but realistic targets which reflect the scale of the opportunity to drive substantial savings but also the standards set by their consultancy category peers rather than in working in other more mature categories,” said Consultancy Procurement Council Director, Alan Gotto. “A category manager who increases spend influenced from 20% to 40% should recognise their success at bringing 100% more spend under management.” For more information contact [email protected]

Ivalua Risk Center

Ivalua has enhanced its supplier risk management capabilities with the Ivalua Risk Center. Ivalua’s new third-party risk module brings together data from across the supply chain, cross checking this with its own risk management information, and the information from new partners: AI threat detection firm riskmethods, EcoVadis and Global Risk Management Solutions (GRMS).
