(MENAFN – KNN India) IICA to launch national capacity building programme on ‘Procurement & Contract Management’
New Delhi, Jan 25 (KNN) The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) through its Centre for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is launching its 11th edition of the National capacity building programme in Kolkata from February 18 to 21, at ibis hotel, Kolkata.
This is being done after the successful hosting of the 10th edition of National Capacity Building Programme on ‘Procurement (Procedures based on General Financial Rules (GFR), Tenders and Bids) and Contract Management: Challenges in Implementation at Goa during December, 2019.
The capacity building programme is designed to provide intensive training to the senior procurement, Project, Finance, Legal professionals & supply chain managers involved in public procurement and supply chain from different Government Departments and PSUs.
According to a release by IICA, on Friday, the ‘Capacity Building Training Programme’ focuses on the pertinent areas under Effective Procurement & Contract Management such as Procurement Process through GeM, Drafting of Commercial Contracts, Contract Negotiations, Contract administration & management, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) Contract, Dispute Resolution mechanism, Resolution of Disputes-Arbitration proceedings, Existing Public Procurement Guidelines, Present Regularly Framework for Public Procurement, Procurement Process, Bid documentation and Bid invitation (NIT), Bid Evaluation & Contract award, E-Auction & Disposal, Contract termination/renewal decision, Effective Strategic Sourcing, Make in India & Public Procurement, Futuristic Opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) & Corporate houses in Public Procurement through Offset policy and multiplier provisions.
Sound Public Procurement policies and practices are among the essential elements of Good Governance, significantly impact the economy by generating demand and consumption, promote local industry and improve (SMEs) access to public procurement. Good practices reduce costs and produce timely results, poor practices lead to wastage of public funds and delays and are often the cause for allegations of corruption and inefficiency.
