SOM is triple accredited by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB. It is known for its excellence in leadership development, its deep-rooted relationships with organisations of all kinds, and its focus on transforming learning and research into improved management practice.

SOM has a strong tradition in Logistics & Supply Chain Management. The Logistics, Procurement & Supply Chain Management Group is one of the largest faculty groups in Europe in logistics, procurement and supply chain management. The MSc in Logistics & Supply Chain Management is one of the oldest Master programmes of its kind in the world. We have successfully launched an MSc in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (2016), a new MSc in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (Oman, 2017) and we also run executive programmes.

Members of the Group are research active and their research interests include, inter alia, marketing logistics, inventory management, risk and resilience, big data and supply chain analytics, reverse logistics, procurement, food and retail supply chains, agile supply chains, collaboration and relationships, sustainability, simulation and modelling, Supply Chain 4.0, manufacturing supply chain. The members are publishing in top ranked journals and are developing their international thought leadership profiles. We are also very successful in research and consulting income generation.

We have growth in our current activities and two faculty members are recruited to support this. Reporting to the Head of the Group, you will already have a Doctorate (Senior Lecturer) or be very close to completion (Lecturer) in logistics, supply chain management or a related field.

For the Lecturer post, you must have a growing track record in teaching ideally in both graduate and executive education and you will have at least a developing portfolio with papers for submission to high-quality journals.

For the Senior Lecturer post you must have a strong track record in teaching ideally in both graduate and executive education and you will have publications already in high-quality journals.

These appointments will be on permanent basis and these academic members will be expected to contribute to our core activities including the delivery of teaching in the UK and overseas. We welcome applications from individuals across the logistics and supply chain management field and we are particularly interested for applicants with expertise in freight transport, procurement, Supply Chain 4.0, supply chain finance, warehousing design.

For an informal discussion, please contact Professor Michael Bourlakis, Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, on (T); +44 (0)1234 75 8561 or (E); [email protected]

At Cranfield, we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential. We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role.
