LINX Cargo Care Group partners with AFLW
LINX Cargo Care Group has joined with Thrifty vehicle rentals and AAMI insurance as a new partner supporting the 2020 AFLW competition.
With the inclusion of four new teams in 2020, AFLW has continued in its aim to inspire girls and women to play football, driving a 31 per cent increase in female football participation across all levels of the game in 2019.
Over the last six years, female football participation has boomed, rising from 195,000 in 2014 to over 580,000 in 2019.
New partner, LINX Cargo Care Group, acknowledged the role it’s involvement in AFLW plays in creating opportunity for diversity within its own business.
“The supply chain and logistics industry have until recently been largely a male-dominated sector, much like Australian football, until the AFLW paved the way for a more diverse, inclusive sporting landscape,” Anthony Jones, CEO, LINX Cargo Care Group said.
“LINX Cargo Care Group is committed to bringing that same inclusive and disruptive ethos to the supply chain and logistics sector, which makes our partnership a natural fit,” he said.
AFL General Manager of Commercial, Kylie Rogers, said the dedication shown by partners such as LINX Cargo Care Group to make a difference in women’s sport is the foundation for the evolution of AFLW.
“The opportunity to be involved in football should be the right of every girl and woman regardless of background or ability. We are proud that our partners share the same vision,” Rogers added.
