Maize is being cultivated in about 5.84 lakh acres resulting in an estimated production of about 14.59 lakh metric tonnes in the State.
Hyderabad: Telangana State Co-operative Marketing Federation (TS Markfed) has been appointed as the State nodal agency for procurement of maize for Minimum Support Price (MSP) during Yasangi (Rabi) season.
The state government provided guarantee for the Markfed to avail credit facility of Rs 3,213 crore from any nationalised banks or financial institutions for purchase of maize.
Maize is being cultivated in about 5.84 lakh acres resulting in an estimated production of about 14.59 lakh metric tonnes in the State.
The state government already declared that entire crop will be procured by the TS Markfed for MSP.
