Hospitals across Pennsylvania are drastically limiting the use of eye protection, gowns, and N95 respirators out of fears that a huge increase in coronavirus cases could diminish reserves and cause shortage, according to a published report.
The report was produced as part of a joint effort between Spotlight PA, PennLive, LNP Media Group, PA Post, and WITF to cover how Pennsylvania state government is responding to the coronavirus.
Hospitals are using “conservation techniques” based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the state health department, said Mark Ross, vice president of emergency management at the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania.
