Pollen Consulting has launched a Procurement practice, led by Aleksander Strasek, appointed as a Director.
Originally from Germany, Strasek has been tasked with establishing and building Pollen’s new Procurement practice. “We have big plans for Pollen Procurement and look forward to Aleks bringing them to life,” said Paul Eastwood, the award-winning founder of Australian management consultancy dedicated to the fast moving consumer goods domain.
Strasek joins the consultancy from The Hackett Group, where he most recently was Practice Lead for the Asia Pacific region, based in Sydney. Before that, he led The Hackett Group’s – a consulting and benchmarking firm specialised in back-office functions – Finance and Procurement Transformation practice in the APAC region.
Before relocating to Australia in the summer of 2016, Strasek worked for The Hackett Group in Germany for nine years, having joined the US consulting firm from General Electric, where he started his career.
According to Pollen Consulting Group, the freshly appointed Director brings a “wealth of experience” in management consulting to the firm, including “delivering multi-million transformation engagements for a number of corporations across Australia and Asia Pacific.”
On the ground in Australia, Strasek among others helped a retailer with the development of a future state learning & development service delivery model, advised a logistics company on a future model for the People function and supported a university with the setup of a new target operating model for all administrative functions.

Pollen Procurement
The new division, branded as Pollen Procurement, supports clients with a range of services, spanning procurement organisation (analysing organisation, processes and systems for improvement potential), procurement operations (delivering efficiencies in operations), category and supplier management (executing category strategies using market benchmarking and managing supplier risk), and performance management (monitoring the value of the procurement function).
The arm also offers a Procurement as a Service (PaaS) offerings – Pollen insources a procurement event / function for a certain period – and offers a number of procurement related training courses delivered by its in-house Academy function.
Other practices of Pollen Consulting Group are Strategy, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Excellence, Asset Advisory (launched in October last year) and Technology (launched in July 2019).
