Procurement Manager – Defence Projects

One of our FTSE 250 clients within the defence technology space is looking for an ambitious and talented procurement and supply chain manager to join their highly rated procurement function working on some of their most innovative and exciting projects.
The successful individual will join the company at a time of significant growth and investment and will be focusing on projects within the maritime but also land categories. This will involve owning the full end to end procurement process and having a crucial role to play in the bids process, securing lucrative new business for this expanding firm.
The key accountabilities of the Procurement Manager role are:
- Owning and driving the full sourcing and procurement process, including identifying new suppliers of niche requirements on developing projects, running competitive bid and tender processes, and managing in contract relations
- Exercising excellent supplier relationship management skills to identify and mitigate risk, leverage off existing relationships to achieve the bets possible value for the company and to maintain the highest quality standards
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including project teams, engineers and senior level management in order to influence behaviours
The requirements for this Procurement Manager role are:
- Comprehensive understanding and experience of supply chain and end to end procurement (at least 3 years relevant experience)
- Specific experience within defence, aviation and/or maritime procurement desirable
- Strong academic track record, degree educated and CIPS (desirable)
- Full unrestricted right to work in the UK, and able to pass relevant SC checks
Remuneration: Competitive salary depending on experience
Flexibility: This role can be located from Portsmouth or Farnborough
