It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our colleague and friend Dr. Tina Sampalis MD, PhD. A shining light in the lives of all who knew her. Tina passed peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2020 after facing cancer with courage, resilience and tenacity.
An international scholar, she was trained in medicine at the universities in Patras, Athens, Germany and Denmark. At McGill University she completed her Ph.D. Tina was named one of the 10 most successful women in Quebec (2010) and one of the 100 most successful women globally by the Princeton Global Network. She pioneered a worldwide industry of omega-3 phospholipids and discovered the benefits of krill oil to human health and was our lead scientific advisor at our biopharma subsidiary.
A visionary, her love of children led her founding of Agoo Children’s Health and Medical Centre, which provides comprehensive care to thousands of children and their families.
Tina will be greatly missed by her family, friends and by our entire team.
