Sohar Port and Freezone has signed an agreement with Matrix Prime Logistics for the development of Phase 2 of a warehousing project, which originally commenced operations in 2018. The first phase involved an investment if over US$ 1.7 million and offers customised warehousing solutions for a range of different commercial, logistics and industrial activities.
The smart designs of the warehouses allows tenants to select the sizes and shapes of units that best suit their business needs. Omar Mahmood al Mahrizi, CEO of Sohar Freezone, said, βThe availability of modern warehouses in Sohar Freezone has contributed significantly to facilitating the movement of goods between the port and the Freezone. This is an important factor behind the increasing volume of goods coming to the port.β
The second phase of the project is scheduled to have a construction duration of 100 days and represents an investment value of over US$1.2 million. Matrix Prime says it has already begun marketing the new facilities and reports high levels of demand from clients wanting to reserve space.
