NEW DELHI: A SpiceJet Boeing 737 freighter aircraft operating from Mumbai to Chennai on Thursday morning had to return to Mumbai after getting a message that its main cargo door was possibly not closed properly. The plane returned to land safely in Mumbai and is undergoing maintenance checks.
“The SpiceJet Boeing 737-700 freighter aircraft VT-SFE operating as SG-7068 from Mumbai to Chennai had to return to Mumbai due to illumination of main cargo door light while climbing at flight level 10,000 feet. (While checklist actions were carried out) differential pressure was observed to be normal, as a precautionary measure the aircraft returned to Mumbai for maintenance check. It landed safely in Mumbai,” said a person in the know.
A SpiceJet spokesman said: “On Thursday, SpiceJet Boeing 737-700 freighter was to operate SG-7068 Mumbai-Chennai. The aircraft returned to Mumbai due to a minor technical issue. The aircraft made a safe and normal landing in Mumbai.”
