A new announcement by the IBM Sterling supply chain platform revealed that the platform will soon receive new tracking features created by Publicis Sapient, Salesforce, IBM Services, and others. The announcement was published this Monday, January 13th, and it claims that new additions will allow the collaboration of blockchain and AI-based suite, which will result in quickly solving returns and various other logistics challenges.
Furthermore, IBM Services is collaborating
with Bluewolf on creating a new connector service, which would allow IBM
Sterling to join Salesforce Commerce, Service, and Marketing Clouds.
This would allow retailers to mix online and
offline shopping experience, but also help reduce the shopping frictions. It
would allow retailers to optimize product returns and back and front-office
connectivity through better organization.
IBM’s efforts to improve the supply
chain industry
Meanwhile, Publicis Sapient is focusing on
optimization of returns, with the goal of extending the capabilities of IBM
Sterling AI. As a result, organizing returns would be further simplified, and
it will be easier to deliver products to their final destination.
There are also other benefits delivered by
other providers, such as project44’s ability to automate various inefficiencies
that may be encountered within carrier networks, and alike.
IBM has seen a major series of various
developments within the supply chain industry, with IBM Sterling being only the
latest one of them. The platform was launched last year in October, and its
focus is data integration between supply chain participants.
However, IBM also developed additional
solutions, such as TradeLens, which was created in collaboration with Maersk.
Further, the company also partnered up with retail giants, coffee distributors,
and others, which provided it with a strong presence in the food industry.
